Loss and Healing at First Unitarian

Barbara Brooks is the Music Director at First Unitarian Society, as well as the accompanist for Minnesota Chorale, and a wonderful pianist/musician. First Unitarian, behind the Walker Art Center, regularly has themed musical events with a theme, and over the years Barbara has invited other musicians to join in these projects. Several MCTC choir members have become involved with these projects over the years, and have really enjoyed doing it.

“Loss and Healing” is the upcoming theme for the next Music Sunday at the First Unitarian Society. Barbara Brooks is looking for singers who might enjoy being part of a meaningful morning singing and playing music that depict the 5 stages of grief. Included on the program is the stunning “When David Heard” by Whitacre, Verleih uns Frieden by Mendelssohn, a work by Stephen Chatman, etc. This is gorgeous music.

Rehearsals begin Wednesday, Jan.30th from 7:15pm-9:15pm and the performance is Sunday, March 3rd at 10:30am. The chorus will perform with the FUS Orchestra.
